Survey 10 - "How many holidays do you receive per annum?"
Nearly 30% of employees have 20 or less days holiday allowance per annum
TipTopJob survey reveals just over 40% of employees have 25
or more day’s holiday but nearly 30% have only 20 or less days allowance
in 1 year. Employers choose their length of holiday allowance given
to employees within the law and within reason.
Results from the TipTopJob survey has found the following figures:
- 28% have 20 days or less
- 17% have 21-22 days
- 11% have 23-34 days
- 43% have 25 days or more
The majority of respondents have either the lowest or the highest amount of holiday allowance. A small holiday allowance could be attributed to the fact that they have not been in their current job for long. Employees with a large holiday allowance (that’s 25 days or more) may have accrued time off at a gradual rate as they have been working at their current job for many years. Alternatively, they may be self-employed and have personally decided to take time off as they like.
Whatever an employees holiday allowance is, it has been known that
employees do not always get round to using it all up within the year.
How many times have you got to the end of the year and had to book
a last minute holiday or take a few days off just to use up your left
over days? A Senior Manager at TipTopJob, says, 'it sometimes
becomes a mad rush to book last minute holidays when employees realise
they have a few days left of their allowance.'
